Share My Meals Hits Half-Million Milestone: 500,000 Meals Recovered and Delivered to Fight Food Insecurity and Food Waste

PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY, Feb. 10, 2026 – Share My Meals, a New Jersey-based nonprofit, officially announces the recovery and delivery of 500,000 meals. This milestone, reached in February 2026, marks a significant achievement in the organization’s dual mission to address food waste and provide nutritious meals to food-insecure people.

Since the launch of its program in 2021, Share My Meals has built a logistics-driven model that connects surplus prepared meals from cafeterias of corporations, schools, universities, and hospitals, directly to neighbors in need. Reaching 500,000 meals represents a critical scale in operations, involving hundreds of volunteers and a growing network of food donors and community partners.

Recovering 500,000 meals is more than a statistic; it demonstrates that our meal recovery model works safely and efficiently,” said Hélène Lanctuit, CEO of Share My Meals. “While we celebrate this milestone, our focus remains on the thousands of families still facing food insecurity. We are leveraging this momentum to expand our recovery network and prove that no nutritious meal should ever go to waste.

The impact of the 500,000 meals recovered includes:

In conjunction with this milestone, Share My Meals is launching the “500,000 Reasons to Love Our Community” campaign this February. The initiative includes a “Double the Love” donor appeal to fund spring operations and a volunteer appreciation event on February 13 at Dorothea’s House in Princeton.

As Share My Meals scales its operations to meet the next milestone, the organization is actively expanding its network of food donors and volunteers. Businesses interested in donating their surplus meals or residents looking to volunteer can find more information and impact data at https://sharemymeals.org/.”
