The Role

This is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day operations of SMM’s Meal Recovery Program. The ROA is the primary point person for volunteers, meal donors, and nonprofit recipient partners, and is responsible for efficiently utilizing our Salesforce technology that runs daily operations. You will plan food recoveries, engage volunteers to sign up for meal transport, schedule drivers and keep the program running smoothly across the region.

What You’ll Manage

  • Serve as the primary point person for volunteers, meal donors, and nonprofit recipient partners in your portfolio
  • Onboard new partner organizations (food donors and recipients) to the meal recovery program

  • Organize the timely and accurate delivery of food to designated locations, ensuring food safety protocol is respected in all aspects of operations
  • Use our Salesforce technology to track equipment and keep account records up to date
  • Support volunteers and partners in using Share My Meals’ technology, troubleshooting issues and coaching users as needed
  • Compile and update reports on key operational metrics, using data and technology to track performance and flag issues

  • Provide regular feedback to leadership on the status of operations and any challenges or opportunities
  • Provide videos, photographs, and anecdotal stories, and suggest donor prospects, to the Development & Communications team
  • Support special projects and initiatives as needed

Who You Are

You are organized, dependable, and energized by keeping complex operations with many components running smoothly. You’re comfortable being the go-to person for a wide range of stakeholders, and just as comfortable being hands-on with the technology and tools that keep it all running.

You are:

  • Tech-comfortable and quick to learn new systems and platforms, and able to troubleshoot and coach others through them
  • A strong organizer and multi-tasker with a track record of setting priorities
  • A clear, effective communicator
  • Analytical, self-directed, and a sound problem-solver
  • Comfortable managing people, preferably volunteers and/or through influence
  • Committed to cultural competency and to leading by example
  • Dedicated to the mission of Share My Meals

Required Experience

  • BA plus one year of related work experience OR three-plus years of related work experience
  • Experience collaborating effectively with a variety of different stakeholders, preferably volunteers
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in a multi-cultural, team-centered environment
  • Ability to use Google Workspace and to learn Salesforce

Preferred

  • Project management experience
  • Experience in nonprofit, food recovery, or impact-driven organizations
