Share My Meals is expanding its operations in New Jersey. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Operations Associate to join our Operations team to manage the daily operations of the Meal Recovery Program in Northern New Jersey.

Job Summary:

The Regional Operations Associate will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of Share My Meals in Mercer County, focusing on logistics, coordination of food recovery and distribution activities as well as equipment inventory management. This will include being the liaison with drivers, volunteers, food donors and recipients.

The ideal candidate should be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for making a positive impact in the community.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Manage Meal Recovery Logistics and Daily Operations

  • Plan and ensure the daily operations of the meal recovery program including the home delivery model
  • Prepare daily work such as schedules
  • Schedule and dispatch drivers/volunteers with necessary equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, partners’ requests, or immediate needs
  • Reach out to volunteers for scheduled slots
  • Organize the timely and accurate delivery of food to designated locations
  • Ensure that the food safety protocol is respected in all aspects of operations
  • Foster strong relationships with food donors, partner organizations, recipients and volunteers
  • Manage the delivery equipment including the container tracking system
  • Organize and manage the food and storage hub in Princeton
  • Conduct occasional site visits in Mercer County
  • Train volunteers on the SMM technology

Communication and Reporting

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to coordinate and streamline operations
  • Communicate with the Operations/Program/Outreach team to resolve problems, requests for services or equipment
  • Compile and update reports on key operational metrics
  • Update database and platform with relevant information
  • Provide regular feedback to leadership on the status of operations and any challenges or opportunities.

Support special projects and initiatives as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficient with Google Suite
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Proficient with conversational Spanish (preferred)

Reporting to: Operations Director

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $60,000

Education: Bachelor’s (preferred)

License/Certification: Driver’s License and vehicle access (required)

Work Location: Onsite in Princeton, NJ with the option later for hybrid. Must be able to travel within the Mercer County area.

Share My Meals is expanding its operations in and around New Jersey. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Outreach Associate to join our Outreach team to support the efforts to identify high-potential meal donors and high-impact nonprofit recipient partners for the Meal Recovery Program across New Jersey and into New York and Pennsylvania.

Job Responsibilities: 

The Outreach Associate plays a critical role in expanding our Meal Recovery Program. In consultation with the Director of Outreach, the Outreach Associate is responsible for researching and identifying potential new meal donors and non-profit partners, ensuring that the Outreach team has the information necessary to pitch the program to the most appropriate and aligned organizations and, in doing so, increasing the number of meals being redistributed within the communities that we serve. 

Conduct Outreach Efforts (85%)

  • Support Nonprofit Partner Recruitment (70%)

In consult with the Director of Outreach and aligned to organizational strategy:

  • Identify meal recipients that match the available food donations
    • Identify radiuses within which prospective meal donors can donate food;
    • Conduct preliminary research and outreach to identify potential meal recipient organizations within each radius;
    • (As necessary) Conduct initial outreach to potential recipient organizations to glean necessary information to determine whether or not they are a possible match
  • Maintain accurate records of prospective nonprofit recipient details and interactions (via Salesforce)
  • Support Donor Recruitment (15%)
    • Identify potential food donors
    • Provide administrative management for the MRP Partnership Outreach plan (e.g. calendaring when new donors are on track for routine outreach; alerting appropriate colleagues to their next steps at the appropriate time(s))
    • Maintain accurate records of prospective donor details and interactions (via Salesforce)
  • Support outreach-focused communication (10%)
    • Coordinate and write the monthly donor impact newsletter
      • Produce regular reports for donors and partners including impact dashboards and tax receipts
    • Collaborate with communications teams to create campaigns that drive awareness and participation.
  • Participate in Task Forces (5%)
    • Support local outreach by participating in food insecurity task forces and other networks in targeted areas across New Jersey.

 

Participate in Operations/Outreach/Program Team Collaboration (15%)

  • Attend and actively participate in regular weekly meetings with outreach, operations, and program team members to support the high functioning of the teams’ coordinated efforts

Job Type: Part-time (20-25 hours) 

Compensation:  $31 per hour

Driver to support the pickup and delivery of meals. Driver will use their vehicle (mileage reimbursed) and/or the organization’s van. Driver will interface with local corporations and other non-profit organizations as necessary to complete the recovery of meals and the donation of meals to those in need in NJ. $15-$18/hour.

  • The driver will pick up and deliver in Northern NJ including: Essex County, Morris County and Somerset County, amongst other new areas as we grow.
  • Expected hours of work: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Saturday morning for ~2 hours. (Some flexibility based on candidate)
  • Must have car and insurance (mileage reimbursement)
  • Involves lifting – up to 30lbs
  • Eligible to work in NJ
  • Ability to speak both English and Spanish is a plus
